MSU announces new tuition model
Morehead State University is adopting a new simplified fee structure and tuition model, beginning with the 2008-09 school year. Many factors, external and internal, coincided this year and presented the administration an opportunity to thoroughly evaluate and restructure the model that had been used for many years.
Under the new tuition structure, the majority of MSU students (78%) will see a tuition increase of 7.4% or less - compared to a 9.5% across-the-board increase, as was originally projected.
To offset the tuition increase, additional investments will be made in financial aid to mitigate the increase for the neediest undergraduate students as well as scholarship recipients. Additionally, the amount available to students qualifying for the maximum Pell award will increase this year and KEES scholarship dollars were restored in the state’s budget.
